the recruitment of College Lecturers in Punjab
Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has
signed the executive summary to initiate the
recruitment of College Lecturers in
Punjab.PPSC
sources told that there is a severe shortage of
lecturers in colleges in Punjab.Every year
trainees
are recruited for one year contract to
compensate
this shortage but this is not the permanent
solution of this problem.Recently,
representatives
of Punjab Lecturers and Professors
Association
met Chief Minister and requested him to
consider
this problem on emergency bases.Now CM
has
ordered Punjab Public Service Commision to
initiate the process of recruitment of Lecturers
in
Punjab.
It is important to mention that recently some
“policy-makers” in Education Department and
Punjab Public Service Commision suggested
to
change the qualification for recruitment of
Lecturers from MA to M.Phil to improve the
standard of Education at college level, but this
suggestion was not approved as there are not
sufficient M.Phil scholars and further, it will
ruin
the future of MA Degree Holders but it has
been
agreed upon by the higher authorities that in
the
coming three to four years, steps would be
taken
to implement this suggestion.
